ELIJAH & the FAMINE

by Dale Garris.

"And Elijah said unto all the people, Come near unto me. And all the people came near unto him. And he repaired the altar of the Lord that was broken down."
1 Kings 18:30
Just a few years before this showdown on Mount Carmel, Israel had been lush with prosperity and wealth.
King Ahab had led the Israelites on a path that led farther away from the old, established worship of God than any before him, and had brought them to a life of riches, prosperity, and licentiousness.
The gods that he and his wife Jezebel had enticed the people of God with appealed to their earthly and fleshly desires.
No longer did they have to be constricted with an old religion that demanded holiness and the fear of the Lord. No longer did they have to lead a life of separation from the things of the world that other, more prosperous nations enjoyed. They could enjoy the prosperity and fullness of riches without the constraints of a religion that had become outmoded and old-fashioned.
Life was good.
So when Elijah pronounced the judgments of God upon Israel, they laughed him out of the king's court. The true prophets of God had been eradicated from the public place and were no longer a thorn in the side of everyone who wanted the rewards of love, peace, and prosperity.

You were no longer allowed to mention the name of Jehovah, much less pray to him in a public place. They now had priests and prophets of Baal that had replaced those old critical and judgmental men who had caused such consternation in the land.
Elijah had stood as the one, lone voice who cried for a return to righteousness.
And who was this hairy old man? He didn't seem to be of any real consequence.

He had no credentials, no theological bearing, and no consequential importance. Even his dress revealed his lack of social prominence and his irrelevance in such a modern, sophisticated time as this.
Ahab's ears may have been deaf to Elijah's pronouncement, but when Elijah spoke, God listened.

Ahab's court may have derided him with laughter as he stood before the king, but 3 years later, no one was laughing.
We have followed a course similar to the one that Ahab had led Israel down.

The Gospel we listen to is far different than the Gospel our grandfathers believed in.

We decry the old brush arbor revivalists as hard, judgmental men who did not understand the love of God, and we have traded their message of repentance and holiness for one that is a kinder, gentler approach which promises love and peace and prosperity.
But the love, peace, and prosperity that our modern prophets have promised us are but a worldly shadow of that which God offers us through a walk of righteousness in the fear of the Lord.
We have been like the Israelites at the foot of Mount Sinai - we feared and trembled at the presence of God when the mount shook with fire and smoke, but as soon as Moses departed up the mountain and we were left to our own devices, we made for ourselves a golden calf to worship in God's place.
I have said for 7 years now that something is coming to America that will be far worse than 9/11, but I never knew what form that judgment would take.

Would it be a dirty nuclear explosion in oneof our cities, or an epidemic, or some natural disaster? We would be hurt, but it wouldn't take long to go back to our old ways.

We are the great and mighty America, and we have an innate belief that we will always bounce back and dominate.
What if it wasn't any of those imagined disasters, but something that struck right to the heart of that which we cherish the most?

What if we lost our prosperity and wealth?

And what if it consumed every level of our society and every part of our country?
We are living in that time of drought when the ravens fed Elijah by the brook Cherith, right after he fled the king's court.
We look to our televangelists who promise us blessings, and refuse to consider that our lust for those promises is what has led us to this drought in the first place.

But we still flip on the TV andhope for a word of encouragement that will convince us to hang onto a Gospel that has a form of godliness, but denies the power thereof.
And of course, they tell us exactly what we want to hear, along with an encouragement to send them your money so that God can release His blessings all over you - but never a word of reproof or repentance.
The job of a prophet is not to tell you how beloved you are, how many blessings God wants to bestow upon you, or how much love is in your church.

The job of a prophet is to rebuild the old broken down altars of God and declare unto the people of God their sins and transgressions so that they may come to a place of repentance and, once again, return to the true God of Israel.

"Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked...

As many as I love,I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent." - Rev 3:17-19

    And I rejoice!

Luke 6:26 Woe to you when all men speak well of you, For so did their fathers to the false prophets.

Luke 16:15 And He said to them, "You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. For what is highly esteemed among men is an abomination in the sight of God.

  2. And the LORD said unto Moses, How long refuse ye to keep my commandments and my laws? Exodus 16:28
If ye love me, keep my commandments. John 14:15
If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.
    John 15:10
My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:
    Proverbs 3:1
Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye.
    Proverbs 7:2

The law is good ,the sin is to think following it will save us.
You should make that clear in your argument with Neal.
iN FACT JESUS SAYS CLEARLY THAT IT IS THE TEST OF WHETHER WE LOVE HIM OR NOT.

  3. Nathan knows, it was made clear.

Did you read the whole thing?

  4. ' He claims that the reason he banned me was because I was rude and arrogant. Once again, I say false! '
I got that false accusation enough times to become a good member in standing with the Jeremiah club of abused, lied about, rejected, verbally stoned and ignored Watchmen.

'Nahum 3:13 Surely, your people in your midst are women! The gates of your land are wide open for your enemies; Fire shall devour the bars of your gates.'

    so true.
That spirit has taken over christiandumb, another sign of God's judgment on the tickled ears club.

I went back and read and then went to the W.C. Forum.

Can you see why I don't do forums ,especially those with silly women who must be catered to with sweet effeminate rubbish or else they are offended.

Do you think Nathan would have allowed the first Christian mayrtyr Steven to preach his last sermon at his forum as it was extremely rude and offensive towards the devoutly religious people of God ?

The Nathans end up making the weaker vessels Lord because they are easily manipulated into the easy way of tickleing easily offended ears, ever learning but never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
There is no place for the rude truth but there is for sweet, polite lies and false teachings as long as they are smooth and not offensive to the dainty, effeminate flesh.

Did you ever hear the story about the Christians of Constantinople who sat around argueing how many angels could fit on the head of a pin while the Moslem Armies surrounded the Capitol city of the eastern Roman Empire and defeated them and drove out apostate Christianity ?
    That is a judgment
    we now see repeating again.
I can't waste my time arguing with the vain religious crowd who ignore the Israel of God.
The time of the Gentiles is almost up and the proud apostate Laodecian church is full of it's selfish self.
    I see a repeat now.

So much of self focused Americanized Christian's ignore Israel and her plight and talk and argue about useless garbage (compared to what the Jews are suffering at the hands of the world)
I will not partake of this vain game of self inflicting wounds on one another, devouring one another while ignoreing the evil of the Nations against Israel.

YOU SILENCE ON THIS AND SHALLOW CONCERN WILL JUDGE ALL OF YOU YOU.
God is judging His house first and all of the religious hypocrites will get what they have comning to them ,no more no less.

Yes, I think that just about does it for me on forums....

It's time to "Let them alone" as Jesus said.

"Do you think Nathan would have allowed the first Christian mayrtyr Steven to preach his last sermon at his forum as it was extremely rude and offensive towards the devoutly religious people of God ?"

No, in fact I commented to my one and only brother in the area. They would have banned Paul the apostle...

After all, it was him I was quoting from scripture many times.

I'm glad for your Blog Marcel.

After I got banned, I told my brother. We'll, looks like it's back to Marcels. At least we know the truth is always welcome there!

  7. I was also thinking about Peter and his deadly and rude sermonette
where they had to pick up the husband and wife team, Ananias and Sappharia, off the floor and dig a hole in the ground to bury them.

I'm thinking his wife influenced him to lie because she wanted to get a new Referigerator and designer rug in the bathroom of their other house and the spineless Ananias went along with his sweetie ????

I'm sure neal would have not only removed Peter but call the Roman police officers on him.

I sent Neal what I posted here (to his comments section)
    Haven't heard back from him.
Maybe his wife won't give him permission to respond or he's afraid she'll beat him up ?

  8. Amen!

Looks like Nathan and rory seemed to be joined at the hip.

    A little background on rory:

He is a disciple of David Ells from ALD/ULB AKA Leavened Bread Ministries.

Thats what started the whole thing over there. Their heretical view of the Man-Child doctrine and my scriptural casting down of that false teaching. It is dominionism and NAR heresy at its worst.

We read Revelation 12:5 to my brothers 2 children aged 9 and 12 and asked them, "Who is the male Child"?

They didn't hesitate to say, "Jesus".

Now mind you, these kids have been taught sound doctrine most of their lives, so they have a sound foundation.

They don't have to become as children as they ARE. We are the ones who need to keep the simplicity that is in Christ!

Earlier, I also rebuked Nathan and wifey in the following thread for being willing and eager to kill his enemies instead of loving them like Jesus commanded.

It becomes clear that we will be killed by those who THINK they offer God service.

John 16:2 They will put you out of the synagogues; yes, the time is coming that whoever kills you will think that he offers God service.

    Amen !

Those who fall into this heresy will fall for more and more and eventually fall for A.C.
They fall for this because the pride in their hearts allways them to be seduced.
    It's judgment.

    No response from Nathan.
    I'm used to it.
They just want their ear's tickled fellowship of vain religion .
