Carmel Withers

Friday :Latest news on Fire in Northern Israel
The firefighters aboard will be briefed by Air Force chief Ido Nehushtan on extinguishing efforts which will concentrate on drawing water from the sea and pouring it over the flames.
Salting the land
Dumping large amounts of salt water over once fertile and forested land can't be good for the soil and will cause the top of Carmel to wither.
This is more confirmation to me of what Amos wrote which I believe is ushering in a dark season for Israel.
Judgment has begun at the 'house of God'  and Israel's neighbors are next for even more severe judgment.

Levi said that "even with all the help in the world it will be very difficult to stop the fire"
Police described the incident as a "major disaster"

The words of Amos, who was among the sheepbreeders of Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.
And he said:“ The LORD roars from Zion,;And utters His voice from Jerusalem; The pastures of the shepherds mourn,
And the top of Carmel withers.”
Amos 1

After reading about the largest and worst fire in Israel's history now burning outside Haifa, the second verse of Amos came to mind.
Is this major fire in Israel the beginning, a foreshadow of what comes next in Amos ? Damascus,Gaza,Lebanon,Jordan etc.
