To Keep or not to Keep

Walter, et.al ,
Many Believers assume they can cast away what God is keeping and commanding us to keep.
That is both dangerous and foolish.
I wanted to post this upcoming event so that my fellow Christians can see for themselves from the bible that the Feasts of God are not past tense or only old, ancient parables which are no longer of use to believers in Messiah Jesus today.
This scripture from the book of Zechariah should put to burial any false teachings that we as Christian's no longer have to observe the Feast's of God.
The Feast of Tabernacles and sacrifice (see verse 21 below)to the Lord will be going on regularly when Jesus rules over the earth from Jerusalem, future tense ,even though Satan has managed to steal this truth from the Church for so long.
Already hundreds of thousands of Christian's have gone up to Jerusalem to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles yearly since the 80's .
What is written of below in Zechariah 14 ,It has already begun in our generation.
I was there in 94' for the Feast of Tabernacles and it was a blessed highlight of my walk of faith in Jesus to be with other Christians in Jerusalem celebrating The Feast of Tabernacles AND IT WAS A MAJOR WITNESS TO ISRAEL AND THE JEWISH PEOPLE.
I was with shoeless Christians from the recesses outside of Papua,. New Guniea along with believers from across the earth, Brazil,Norway,Canada,Africa,Finland ,ect.
It was united worship of King Jesus in praise from the nations as we humbly loved the Jews and His people Israel.
This witness has spoken loudly to the Jews who do not yet know who their Messiah is yet.
To discount this or discred it or call it unnecessary, done away with religious ritual is wrong and it is your wrong choice to remain blind and in serious danger by ignoring what God is doing and where He is leading His little willing flock .(Romans 11:18-22)
How sad that so many Christians are stuck in the mud and missing what God is doing.
He does a new thing and we won't let go of our old ,worthless traditions of men.

Case Closed !
---------------------------
exerpts from Zechariah 14
For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.
Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.
And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which [is] before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, [and there shall be] a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.
......And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which [is] before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south............
And this shall be the plague wherewith the LORD will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth....
And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.
And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain.
And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the plague, wherewith the LORD will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.
This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles
In that day shall there be upon the bells of the horses, HOLINESS UNTO THE LORD; and the pots in the LORD'S house shall be like the bowls before the altar.
21.Yea, every pot in Jerusalem and in Judah shall be holiness unto the LORD of hosts: and all they that sacrifice shall come and take of them, and seethe therein: and in that day there shall be no more the Canaanite in the house of the LORD of hosts.
---------------------
'no more the Caanite' -They were the merchants whose life was centered in making a buck off of everything including God as we see in the Church of Jesus today.
Truly a serious infection which has poisoned the body.
The religion business has polluted the temple of God (us) and we go along with it even though it is greatly displeasing to God.
Even the tax expempt government ststus 5013c is ,unclean ,leaven, pollution and stain upon the Church of Jesus Christ
We have made the government Lord insttead of Jesus.
Thank God this will end !

Marcel,

I agree with your post. Scripture is very clear that we will celebrate the Feasts of the LORD and that there will be sacrifices (see also Eze. 45). Most christians cast these passages aside, because they do not fit in the man-made traditions of their belief system.

Yet most christians "adopt" certain aspects. For example, ask most christians where Messiah returns. They will most likely say "to Jerusalem", or "to the Mount of Olives", or even "He comes through the Eastern Gate". The latter of these is ONLY supported in Eze. 43-44. As you mentioned, the Mount of Olives claim appears in Zech. 14. So, they "steal" these little jewels, but deny the surrounding content.

I do not think this is purposefully done. It is done in ignorance...ignorance of the whole counsel of God's Word. It seems to me that one can only begin to see these things when he truly seeks the One True God (the Holy One of Israel) and decides to lay aside the falsehood of his traditions. (Deut. 4:29, Jer. 16:19-21).

By the way,

Are you aware of any groups or organizations that are planning a trip to the Feast of Tabernacles that will keep things in the proper biblical perspective?

Here are two.The best thing to do is pray about it.
I don't agree with the direction of ICEJ but God stil uses whomever He chooses.

I'm not sure what you were getting at with Jesus' return to the Mt. of Olives ?
Proper perspective ?
Could you be more specific ?

Marcel,

My only point is that most Christians will accept things like Jesus returning on the Mount of Olives (Acts 1:9-12, Zech 14:3-5), but they refuse to accept the surrounding content (keeping the Feast of Tabernacles, Zech 14:16 ff). This is because they (like me) have been taught that these feasts are completed and are no longer relevant. I (like you) had to learn the truth "on my own" by reading the entire bible with a "seeking heart". These feasts were given as an everlasting ordinance. Forever never ends.

So, it requires evaluating your traditions and man-given knowledge in light of Scripture, and casting off the falsehood. This is a painful process, but necessary, to begin to truly walk in truth.

By "proper perspective", I mean not teaching that these Feast are done away with. I know that we cannot truly keep these as the Israelites of old did because there is not yet a functioning temple system. This is why we look forward to the restoration of all things spoken of in Acts 3:21. Messiah will rebuild the temple (Zech. 6:12-13). Then, we will truly keep the Feasts as he leads us back to the ways of the Father.

Thanks for the feedback Eric.
I get it ,just a little slower today.
I mentione to another commenter that often we have to let go of the junk to pick up with both hands what God wants to give us.
Too many just don't want to let go of the manure pile they're holding onto and so God can't bless them.

I'm tired and so
I'm going to go take a nap.

Hi Marcel. My name is Sue Melin. So glad to find your blog.
One thing that has always puzzled me in zechariah is the part about the ongoing sacrifices. If I wasn't a believer in Yeshua, that scripture would be a strong case in point against him (since he is the last sacrifice).
Comments?
Thanks again

Hi Sue,

'If I wasn't a believer in Yeshua, that scripture would be a strong case in point against him (since he is the last sacrifice).'

I think that with 1000 prophetic fulfillment's and solid, positive facts in favor of Messiah Jesus being the only one true messiah of Israel and the sin filled world,
those who look 'against' the truth will always find 'something' to hang their lost, self led, deceived soul on,don't you ?
None of it will stand up ,it will all be swept away on the day they stand before the Lamb, slain from the foundations of the world.
Our Saviour or our Judge.

I think it's always preferable to go directly to the Lord with our questions, doubts, puzzles.
My thoughts are that we of the human species like to get God locked up in our home made religion box and keep Him there.
We like to get Him under our microscope and dissect Him.
He told Moses to tell Pharoah ;
'I will be what I will be','I am that I am'.
We have decided to define him, label him as if He were the latest no longer free animal that we love to tag and observe and glue on radio transmitters to keep an eye on.
Cloning,tampering with His creation.
How insane the flesh becomes when it rejects it's Creator.
Mankind is showing more and more tendencies of wanting to be God,wanting to be God as the devil they follow attempts to do.
That was the first lie in the garden of eden; 'ye shall be as God..."

If Jesus permits the feasts and sacrifice as a way of rememberance and thanksgiving ,who am I to say no ,that's not right ?
I think we're going to be surprised as Jesus does not fit into the mold religious man has made for Him.
I hate mans religion attempt to follow God,It's all filthy rags whether it's the pharisee Judiasm or pharisee Christianity.
We in Christianity have alot of man made doctrine and false teachings that we need to dump or we won't make it.
The number one is the early rapture lie foundational in the apostate, politicized church in America.
We put our leaders above Jesus and get stuck in the religious mud ,never to break free again.

The shepherds have led the flock astray.
The blind lead the blind.
When I was a young believer in 74' in the Air Force I was approached by Mormons,J.W. and Jesus only Pentecostal's,ect.with their religious sales push and confusion set in.
This is the lesson the Lord taught me thru this test.
Would I rely upon my own wisodm and make my own decisions or would I seek the Lord and trust Him to lead me ?
The word of God ;
"Lean not on your own understanding ,in all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your path" is one of the most important verses in the bible as the majority of humanity rely upon their flesh and it always leads them to hell.
Thats why the wisdom of man,a degree is usually fatal to our faith walk.
We get to wise for our own good and forget how to become little children before the Father.
Hell will be full of religious folks who relied on their own wisdom.

Coming out of the deep pit of Roman/Pagan Catholicism with it's false teachings, I fell into learning many false teachings from the Protestant,Evangelical,Pentecostal branch of Christianity.
I thinks it's dangerous to follow anyone other than Jesus ,ehther it's a Hal Lindsey or a John Hagee. You should never put anyone,no matter how wise or holy above Messiah Jesus the Christ.
Many Jews place their Rabbi's in the place of God as Christian's do with their leaders and teachers.

Jesus warned about all the deceiver's and deception which would flourish in the last days before His reutrn.
It's here now.

On my journey to the promised land with Jesus leading me I've stumbled and been confused many times because I listened to the religious leaders and book writers instead of letting Jesus teach and lead me.
He's always picked me up and straightened the crooked path because I hold onto the "lean not unto you own understanding" word of God.
Don't trust in your flesh,it's unclean.
He's the only true Shepherd who laid down His life for us and the majority today are hirelings.
