Thousands flee as Sadr City offensive looms

Iraqi forces backed by U.S. warn residents to leave Mahdi Army stronghold
U.S. forces have increased air power and armored patrols in an attempt to cripple Shiite militia influence in Sadr City, a slum of 2.5 million people that serves as the Baghdad base for the Mahdi Army led by anti-American cleric Muqtada al-Sadr.

As the precarious situation with Iran's Hizbollah in Lebanon grows more dire, the pressure between Iran and the U.S. is ratcheting up across the board.
Oil,Dollar's,Interference in Iraq,Nuclear, and a working coalition against us on our southern flank.
For the most part since the war began in 2003, Iranian backed cleric Sadr and his milita have been left alone and allowed to grow into a more serious threat.
Another of many bad move's,this one with possible grave consequences.
Sadr had an arrest warrant for murder back in 2004 which the U.S. shelved out of fear it would destabilize an already fragile situation even more.
Instead of nipping Sadar's private army in the bud ,they let it grow and grow.
Now the chickens have come home to roost.
Could this one mistake set in motion the tribulation war ?
Five years after the Iraq war began ,U.S. military decides to crush the Mhedi Army because they started fireing missiles and mortars into the Green Zone.
The same U.S. which hinders Israel from soundly defeating Hamas and Hizbollah for fireing rockets into Israel is now going after the Mhedi army to defeat them. for the same thing.
I don't think it's going to take much for this to escalate into another more severe and catastrophic war.

Will the IRG continue to maintain a low profile or begin to fight more openly against the U.S.?

It is possible that Iran will not stand by while their jihad investment with fellow Shiites in Sadr City is reduced to nothing.
Already there are threats to bomb Iranian bases which train Iraqi fighters to fight U.S soldiers in Iraq.
This mess could escalate easily with unexpected consequences.
Watching and praying.
Thy Kingdom Come !

update:
Iran's Hizbollah terrorist leader in Lebanon says ;
'War has started,'

The gunbattles were taking place between Shiite and Sunni neighborhoods in the capital, near CNN's Beirut Bureau.
"We believe the war has started and we believe that we have the right to defend ourselves," Nasrallah said in a televised speech. "We will cut the hand that will reach out to the weapons of the resistance no matter if it comes from the inside or the outside."
